Signature Maker

Create a signature by drawing it with your mouse or finger, or by typing your name in a script font — download as a transparent PNG.

About Signature Maker

The Signature Maker creates a personal signature two ways — draw it freehand with your mouse, finger or stylus, or type your name and pick from a few script-style fonts — and downloads it as a transparent PNG ready to drop into a document, PDF or email. There's no account and no software to install; both modes produce a downloadable image entirely inside the browser.

The Draw tab works like a focused version of the Drawing Board: a single thin black pen on a lined background reminiscent of a real signature line, drawn via the browser's Pointer Events API so mouse, finger and stylus input all work identically. The Type tab instead renders your typed name onto an off-screen canvas using a chosen cursive or italic font stack, then exports that exact rendering as a PNG — what you see in the live preview is precisely what gets downloaded.

Both modes export with a transparent background (not a white rectangle), which is what makes the result usable as a genuine signature overlay: drop it onto a PDF form field, paste it into a Word document signature block, or embed it in an email signature without a visible white box around your name. This covers common needs like signing a document you've received as an image or PDF, adding a personal signature to a digital form, or creating a consistent signature image to reuse across documents without re-drawing it each time.

Your signature — drawn or typed — is generated entirely in your browser and only leaves your device when you explicitly click download; nothing is uploaded or stored anywhere by this tool.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a downloaded signature legally binding?

This tool creates an image of a signature for convenience — whether it counts as a legally valid signature depends on the document, jurisdiction and context (many e-signature laws require additional verification steps that this tool doesn't provide). Check your specific requirements before relying on it for legal documents.

Why is the background transparent instead of white?

A transparent PNG lets the signature sit naturally on top of a document, form field or colored background without a visible white box around it — exactly what you want when overlaying it onto an existing PDF or image.

Can I use my own custom font for the typed signature?

Not currently — the Type tab offers a small set of built-in script and italic font stacks that render consistently across browsers without needing to download any font files.

Is the Signature Maker free?

Yes, the Signature Maker is completely free with no usage limits. No signup, no account and no installation required.

Is my data safe?

Yes. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript — nothing you type is uploaded or stored on our servers.
