Each die uses an independent, uniform random roll across its full range of faces (1 through the number of sides), so a d20 has exactly a 1-in-20 chance of landing on any given face, matching the odds of a physical die. Rolling multiple dice at once — say, 3d6 for a damage roll or 2d10 for a percentile-style check — shows every individual result plus the sum, so you can see both the breakdown and the total your game actually needs.
