Image Watermark

Stamp a text or logo watermark onto any image with control over opacity, size and position, including a tiled repeat mode. No upload required.

About Image Watermark

The Image Watermark tool stamps a text caption or an uploaded logo image onto any photo, with full control over opacity, size and position — including a tiled mode that repeats the watermark across the entire image, which is much harder to crop out than a single corner stamp. It's built for photographers, designers and anyone sharing work online who wants their name or brand visibly attached before a preview image goes public.

A watermark's main job is deterring casual reuse: a client preview gallery, a portfolio site, or a stock-photo-style listing all benefit from a visible mark that discourages someone from lifting the full-resolution image and using it without permission or payment. Text watermarks work well for a quick copyright line or website URL; logo watermarks are the better choice once you have an actual brand mark, since a small logo reads as more professional than a text string and is instantly recognizable.

Position control covers the eight standard placements — each corner, each edge-center, and dead center — plus a tiled mode that repeats the watermark at a diagonal angle across the whole frame. Tiling trades a little visual cleanliness for real protection: a single corner watermark can be cropped out in seconds, but a full-image tile pattern can't be removed without visibly damaging the photo underneath it.

Rendering happens entirely on an HTML5 canvas in your browser — both the base image and, for logo mode, the watermark image you upload stay local, with nothing sent to a server. One practical note: opacity and color matter more than most people expect for legibility — a low-opacity light watermark can disappear entirely over a bright sky or white background, so it's worth checking the preview against the actual image rather than assuming a default setting will read clearly everywhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is more effective — a corner watermark or a tiled one?

A tiled watermark is far harder to remove, since it covers the whole image rather than one corner that can simply be cropped off. A single corner mark is less visually intrusive but offers much weaker protection.

What opacity should I use?

Somewhere around 30–60% is a common balance — visible enough to identify the source, faint enough not to distract from the photo. Very low opacity risks disappearing over light backgrounds; check the preview against your actual image rather than trusting a default blindly.

Can I watermark with my logo instead of text?

Yes — switch to the Logo tab and upload any image (ideally a PNG with a transparent background) to use as the watermark, with the same opacity, scale and position controls as text mode.

Is the Image Watermark free?

Yes, the Image Watermark is completely free with no usage limits. No signup, no account and no installation required.

Is my data safe?

Yes. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript — nothing you type is uploaded or stored on our servers.
