Typing Speed Test (WPM)

The Typing Speed Test measures how fast and how accurately you type against a short random passage, updating your words-per-minute (WPM) and accuracy live as you go. WPM here follows the standard convention used by typing tests worldwide: every 5 correctly typed characters counts as one "word," regardless of the actual word lengths in the passage, which keeps results comparable across different tests and passages. Accuracy is calculated character-by-character against the target text, so a single typo lowers your accuracy score even if you go on to type the rest of the passage perfectly — mirroring how most professional typing certification tests grade.

It's useful well beyond bragging rights.
